Editorial Standards
How We Ensure Accuracy, Objectivity, and Accountability
Overview
SaaSStatistics.marketing exists to give SaaS marketing and revenue leaders numbers they can rely on. Since our entire site is built around statistics and data, our editorial standards are stricter than a typical content site. This page outlines the principles every piece of content published here must follow.
Accuracy Comes First
Every statistic published on this site must be traceable to a credible original source. We do not estimate, round for convenience, or present a number without knowing exactly where it came from.
- We never alter a statistic's original value, even when it would make a page read more cleanly.
- We never present a statistic without a visible source citation.
- We flag ranges, estimates, or projections clearly instead of presenting them as confirmed figures.
No Editorializing on the Data
Our role is to report, contextualize, and organize statistics, not to spin them toward a predetermined conclusion. When we add commentary around a number, it explains what the data means, not what we want a reader to believe.
- We avoid cherry-picking statistics that support a narrative while ignoring contradicting data from equally credible sources.
- When sources disagree, we present both figures and explain the discrepancy rather than choosing the one that fits a story.
- We do not accept payment, sponsorship, or incentives in exchange for favorable statistics, rankings, or omissions.
Independence and Objectivity
Our content is not influenced by advertisers, partners, or any company mentioned within our statistics. If we ever cite proprietary data from a company with a commercial interest in the outcome, we disclose that relationship directly on the page.
Review Process
Every page goes through the following review before publishing:
- 01Source verification
Confirming the original source exists, is credible, and reports the statistic as presented.
- 02Cross-check
Comparing against a second source where available to confirm consistency.
- 03Editorial review
A second reviewer checks the page for accuracy, context, and clarity before it goes live.
- 04Post-publication monitoring
Pages are revisited on a quarterly basis, or sooner if a source updates its data, to confirm statistics remain current.
Corrections Policy
If a statistic is found to be inaccurate, outdated, or misattributed after publication, we correct it as soon as it's verified and update the page's last-modified date to reflect the change. We do not quietly alter figures without a visible update trail.
Accountability
Readers can flag a statistic they believe is incorrect or outdated through our contact page. Every submission is reviewed against the original source before any change is made.
